Just after last week’s show was when news of Sir Jony Ive leaving Apple dropped, so we are probably among the last to discuss it but that won’t stop Alan, Dean and Karl from sharing their thoughts on what this might mean moving forward. They also share some of this favourite Ive designs as well as some that left them wanting. SIRI discovers live radio, OpenID has a few words about Sign In with Apple, Apple+ won’t be Netflix and we learn the latest number of users on Apple Music…because we all want to know that. I am so happy and pleased with all his hard work, not only on the site but with all the accompanying rebranding across our social media sites and onto our forthcoming podcasts. A recent article in The Guardian has thrown a little doubt on the actual usefulness of sleep trackers. Their article explains how the apps actually offer very little data outside of how much your body might move while you sleep. As a result I started to leave my Apple Watch off overnight to experience the difference.
The dust from WWDC is finally settling but a few more details have been discovered so Alan, Dean, Steve and Karl return to pour over the week’s Apple and tech-related news once again. Karl has treated himself to some new headphones, iMovie gets an update, the Mac Pro gets a release date….or does it, an illuminating solution to a Mac issue and why Karl has dumped his sleep tracking apps.
